Valentines Day at PS on 2/14/13

Hello Ladies!

This Thursday at PS we will be celebrating Valentine's Day! Angela had a great idea to create stations of activities for each of you to participate in, if you would like to!  We need you to help bring a couple of items if you would like to participate in certain stations!  I attached a couple of links to see the projects that you can make.

Station 1: Pamper-A-Mom: At this station, you can receive and give a neck massage to another mom.  Angela and her friend will have other surprises at this station.

Station 2: Hand Station: Do your nails and create sugar scrub.  Please bring nail polish, nail clippers or anything else you may want to use to beautify your own nails!

Station 3: Make a Valentine for your child AND craft: Please bring any broken crayons you may have in your child's crayon stash for this craft.

Station 4: Make an I Love You Because frame for your loved one, family member, child, or friend.  Please bring a 4x6 or 5x7 frame from around your house to do this project and if you want to have a special paper for the frame's background.  Scrapbook paper will be provided.

Station 5: Chocolate Fondue Station: Please bring your appetite!

Have a fabulous Valentine's Day!

Craft Day on 1-31-12 and a special thank you.

Hello ladies!

Tomorrow is Craft Day at P.S. and I am excited to see what Cynthia has in store for us! If you happen to finish craft early, please feel free to bring something to work on or just enjoy some wonderful conversation with your fellow mamas.

Have a wonderful day!

Warmly,
Shannon

P.S.- Can I just say how thankful I am for all of you?

I mean it.

Not only are you ladies just flat out fun to be around in general, but you are all just so eager to help and give to your fellow mamas.

I know one mama (actually, a few) who I can call at any time for advice on what oil to use for just about anything.

I know one mama who is a master in the kitchen who shares the most delicious, healthy recipes.

I know one mama who will drive for close to an hour just to grace us with her presence. This mama has also lent baby clothing when a certain baby boy peed and pooped on everything and a certain mama couldn't keep up with the laundry.

I know a few mamas who graciously pass down baby clothing when they are done with it to help out.

I know one mama who will do just about anything, for anyone. She is just that kind and giving. And you don't even have to ask. She just does it.

I know one mama that I can count on for motherly advice, as I know she has already done the research on just about everything with her older children and will give me the lowdown on whatever I inquire about.

I know one mama that I can count on for a good laugh every single time.

I know one mama who is a wizard with a sewing machine and can whip up the most scrumptious outfits for all ages.

I know a few mamas who are nurses who will offer advice when that doctor visit is just not doable.

I know a plethora of mamas who will let you borrow just about anything. And who will even drop whatever it may be at your doorstep!

These are just a few of the mamas that offer such special qualities to our P.S. mama group. I am so thankful to have you all in my life and I am eager to get to know more of you as this semester continues, and I am certain I am not alone in this feeling.

Thank you all for being a part of such a wonderful group!

Alright that ended up being longer than the short little blurb I originally thought it would be.

The end.

Welcome back!! Spring 2013

Hello ladies!

Welcome back to another fabulous semester of P.S. I Love You! Tomorrow morning kicks off the beginning of the Spring semester and we can expect some quick introductions, yummy snacks and some great conversation.

If you are new to P.S., we are so glad to have you! If you'd like to be added to the Facebook page please let me, Shannon Morscheck, know and I'd be happy to add you. It's just a good venue for announcements, questions you may have for fellow mommas or a place to post recipes or play date options.

I look forward to seeing your smiling faces tomorrow morning! Just a reminder, drop-off is between 9-9:15 and then grab your snacks to begin around 9:30.

Warmly,
Shannon

Hi Ladies!

Tomorrow's program will be ViviAnne Fischer speaking on "Bringing Home Baby."   Thank you Angela and Rachel for coordinating tomorrow's program.

I've asked all the teachers, except the baby's classroom teachers, to do some kind of art for the Original Works Kids Artwork Fundraiser project during PS this week.  You can get your child's artwork printed onto t-shirts, mugs, magnets, aprons, and the like while supporting PS at the same time. Next Thursday, October 18th, the art projects are due to be turned in. I have all the packets and information to hand out tomorrow. You can read the email below to get a better description of what this fundraiser is all about.

This email below is from Alex, the PSILY Coordinator regarding Original Kids Artwork Fundraiser...

This fall we are running the Original Works Kids Artwork fundraiser again to support PS I Love You!
You can get your child's artwork printed onto t-shirts, mugs, magnets, aprons and the like while supporting PS at the same time.

The Original Works program is a great way to:
    - Celebrate your child's creativity
    - Order gifts for holidays, birthdays, or any special occasion
    - Create treasured keepsakes that last a lifetime.

How it works:
This week at PS, information packets will be available with the brochure, order forms and special paper (cardstock) for you to take home.
Have your children do some terrific artwork on the paper  (crayons, markers, paint, paper collage etc).  Choose the type of item or items you want the artwork printed on.
Fill out the order form and make out a check to PS I Love You.  And bring the whole package back to me the following week to send in.
We have a pretty short window for getting artwork done (1 week)  - but we are guaranteed to get the products delivered back to us by the end of November.
So this is a great option for one-of-a-kind holiday gifts!
I've attached a flyer, a price list and some other information on the program.
Any questions?  Just ask!

See you all tomorrow,
Stacey

Last Week's Buncooooooo Night Recap!

Last Friday night Rachael hosted Bunco at her house, and it was a hoot! We met some wonderful new friends, shared some touching stories, ate some delicious food (and way too much candy) and rolled those die like CRAZY! And some of us even won some cash!

Intense!

OOoO NO will-power when it comes to these babies!
 Look at all those losses...

All-in-all a fun evening with fellow mamas! And our very own Nicci Loscalzo took home the jackpot! Way-to-go, girl! I happened to win my $5 back because I LOST the most times!! I guess being the loser isn't always a bad thing!!!

Book Talks this Thursday

Hello ladies!

If the weather and roads permit, we will be having a parenting circle this week about our favorite mama books. Please bring your favorite parenting resource book to share with us (we are going to be mean and say no Love & Logic this time, since we've talked about it quite a bit in the last year). And, if you could also bring a favorite kid book--either a baby board book you still are miraculously not sick of, toddler-friendly book, first chapter book...whatever leaps to mind as an all-time favorite.

We will be taking a few minutes to share our book finds with each other, so please bring a pen and piece of paper to jot things down. If this weather keeps up, we will all have to stock up on books to keep our kids from turning to indoor goo.

Tiffany & Carli
